Hello everyone. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog. Just wanted to tell you all a bit about myself.
My name is Janie-Marie, I’m from a small town in Prince Edward Island. I work full time as a nurse (an LPN) I’m in my mid 40’s, (she says in a whispered voice). I enjoy many “hobbies” which is kind of how this blog came to be. In no way, shape or form do I consider myself an expert in any of the hobbies I enjoy and I still browse pinterest and many different blogs and ask friends and family and sales experts a ton of questions myself about decorating, fashion, gardening or photography and the list goes on and on…But I noticed a few years ago that my hobbies and interests went from me being the one asking other people for tips and tricks and recipes and advice on many things, to people asking me for the same info. I also found that my answers were never really short (if you haven’t noticed from this very long post) haha. I do love photography (and I’m still learning really, I think in photography you are always learning). It was suggested to me a few years ago that I should start a blog. At the time I wasn’t quite sure how to do that or if anyone would even read what I had to say, or even if they would enjoy any of my photos and ramblings haha. “Start a blog” went on my list of New Years Resolutions for probably 3 years before I really decided to look into it, after listening to a few podcasts (I had not listened to any previously) in January, while on the treadmill of all slot places, I decided 2019 was the year! (Also coincidentally, the year I decided to “stop overthinking” AND the year I turn 40!) My sister helped me come up with a name, and with some googling and lots of time trying to figure this out, oursimplegracioushome.com was born!! I’m super excited to share bits and pieces of my life with you. I hope that my posts inspire some creativity in yourselves, and I’ll be happy if my posts help someone, in some way, to organize that space they hate, or pick up a camera they were once afraid of or plant the flowers on the front porch that they didn’t think they could get to grow!! 🙂
