Ah!! Spring!! There is just something about it isn’t there? As a hobbyist photographer, there are things about every season that I enjoy. The new buds growing in the Spring, warm summer nights and sunsets, all the fall colors, the first snowfall, frost…the list could go on and on actually.
But there is just something about those very early days of Spring, right when the time changes, that gives us longer evenings, that just feels like a “fresh” start!
I love to get out in the evenings for a walk, sometimes alone, sometimes with my four legged white fluffball. haha. I also love changing things up a bit inside the house. I’m guessing I’m not the only who feels this way. π
There are a few areas of the house I would usually add some Spring or Easter dΓ©cor. I mostly just focused on the kitchen table this year, as this is what you see when you walk into the house. The living room at the moment (to me at least) is looking frumpy, so I found it hard to get inspiration to add anything in there. haha I also love candles! I change them up with the season as well. So there are some fresh smelling ones scattered around the house. π
I had planned on using fresh tulips but couldn’t find any locally at the time, but I had made a trip to Michaels and Home Sense and found some inspiration.
Michaels had lots of fabric flowers to choose from. I kind of had lavender or lilac in mind, so these were perfect! They were in longer stems and I cut them and scattered them over areas of the table. And also added some to a vase (in the background). Michaels also had the “Hello Spring” chalkboard sign. The back is also a chalkboard (blank) They also had a smaller version that said “Happy Easter” So cute!
I planned on taking these photos in the soft afternoon light in my kitchen but when I had time, the sun didn’t really cooperate. π
Then a trip to Home Sense and I found the table runner and white bowl!
How do all of you freshen your home at the start of spring?
I also have a recipe in mind (if it turns out) haha that I can’t wait to share with everyone. So if you love Cookies and Cream as much as I do, Be sure to come back. π
